Hamilton
In good company.
We’re a global specialty insurance and reinsurance company enhanced by data and technology, focused on producing sustainable underwriting profitability and delivering significant shareholder value.
Headquartered in Bermuda, we operate on a global basis, with over 500 employees and key underwriting operations in London, Bermuda, the US and Dublin.
We work collaboratively, we share a passion for the service and results we deliver, and we know that what we do each day is meaningful – to our customers and our business.
We’re looking for a
QA Engineer
Based in a Dublin hub, you’ll work within a team which has been established specifically to explore and validate a next‑generation AI‑native insurance operating model. The environment is research‑focused, collaborative, and experimental, with a clear separation from day‑to‑day business operations to allow deep technical investigation, structured analysis, and prototyping. The QA Engineer will have a hybrid responsibility for product ownership, cooperate closely with experienced professionals, participating in real‑time enterprise innovation research in a regulated insurance setting while contributing meaningfully to a high‑impact feasibility study.
Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. is a Bermuda-headquartered company that underwrites specialty insurance and reinsurance risks on a global basis through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
About the Role
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with solid testing fundamentals, a quality-first mindset, and a drive to grow fast in a high-ownership environment to join our AI research program. This is a unique, emerging role sitting at the intersection of insurance operations, product thinking, and agentic AI - ideal for someone who understands how insurance workflows actually run and is excited to reimagine them through autonomous AI agents. You'll join a dynamic cross-functional team. Own the test coverage for the features, contribute to requirements review, and be expected to take increasing responsibility for quality as you grow. AI tooling is a first-class part of how we work: you'll use it to accelerate test generation and develop sharp judgment about validating its output.
Responsibilities
● Develop automated tests for both new features and regression scenarios
● Conduct functional, integration and regression testing to validate application functionality against requirements, with manual testing as needed
● Triage and report defects accurately, tracking them from discovery through to resolution
● Monitor and help reduce the ratio of end-user found vs QA found defects
● Keep QA impact on release schedule to a minimum
● Use AI tools to accelerate test generation, while developing the judgment to review and validate generated tests
● Contribute to requirements review by bringing a QA perspective
Requirements
● Minimum of 3 years in Quality Assurance or Software Development roles
● Hands-on experience with Playwright or a comparable test automation framework
● Good coding skills enabling efficient test automation
● Experience with API testing and automation
● Familiarity with issue tracking tools (preferably Jira) and version control (preferably Git)
● Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment — clear written communication, reliable async collaboration
Preferred Skills
● Familiarity with AI coding assistants applied to test generation, and a willingness to build a disciplined workflow around them
● Experience creating and maintaining manual testing plans
● Experience working on a SaaS platform, or at least a custom-built product
● Familiarity with agile environments and frequent release cycles
● Awareness of DevOps practices related to QA infrastructure and CI/CD
● Understanding of web application development concepts
● Self-directed and curious: you take ownership of your tasks, seek feedback proactively, and drive your own growth without waiting to be pushed
