Interim / Contract Technology Supplier Management Lead

Contract Overview

Flutter is seeking an experienced Technology Supplier Management contractor to provide urgent, short-term cover ahead of advertising a permanent Head of Technology Supplier Management role. This role is critical due to a significant AWS group contract requiring immediate operational attention and the absence of an established vendor management capability within the technology function.

This is a hands-on, operational role focused on delivery rather than long-term strategy or people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate operational management of critical technology suppliers, particularly AWS and similar strategic vendors.
• Establish and maintain an effective operational cadence with suppliers beyond commercial and contractual management.
• Support procurement with:
• Supplier-related follow-ups
• Governance inputs
• High-quality, insight-driven content
• Own and run Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), including preparation, governance, actions, and follow-through.
• Develop and manage Service Improvement Plans, ensuring continuous service improvement.
• Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are in place to cover:
• Continuous service improvement
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation
• Clear incident and issue escalation paths
• The right relationships at the right organisational levels
• Act as a senior operational interface with supplier account directors, influencing outcomes through strong relationships rather than mandate.
• Help clarify and operationalise the boundary between technology supplier management and procurement, ensuring alignment without duplication.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Experience

• Proven vendor / supplier management experience, ideally within large, complex organisations.
• Practical experience managing AWS-scale or similar strategic technology suppliers.
• Strong background in QBR governance, service performance management, and continuous service improvement.
• Experience creating and executing service improvement plans.
• Comfortable facing off with senior supplier account directors.

Preferred Background

• Financial Services or Retail sector experience highly desirable.
• Experience operating in environments with high supplier spend and operational complexity.
